I really like this thread. I'm a retired truck technician, mainly diesels and as most of you know diesels are expensive to maintain but have some real advantages, pulling power because of their high torque being one, and a turbo is great if you are traveling in the higher elevations, and typically diesel engines do last longer. The down side is initial cost and maintenance is much higher. Now I love the Triton engines, so for me it is gas because I don't need the extra power, nor extra expense of the diesel. Now if money is no object, then I would go with the diesel especially if one is going to put mega miles on their rig, and I would go with the cummins, the ISL99 can be programmed from 330 to 450 hp and 1000 to 1250 torque that is a bunch of power and very reliable, but they aren't cheap.
