Oh, another idea - try freezing large water bottles / jugs of water beforehand. We have two 1/2 gallon water bottles (roughly 1/2, pretty big) that I keep frozen in our home freezer. I use them as ice packs when we use the coolers. They stay frozen for days - 4 or more days usually.
