They choose not to.
For some it may be economic, for a few others it's too close to things their families recently left behind, and for the majority, life with "all the modern conveniences" is preferable.

I agree that having a management group representative of the employees of a company makes good sense. Just have a hard time figuring out I guess is what they could possibly do to persuade/encourage people who choose not to camp to camp. How do you change the activity of camping to be more attractive to a particular ethnic group?

She is literally saying the opposite. Not pandering to blacks, but having actual representation at the corporate level. It's an real thing, you know. Companies with diverse management teams have higher profits.

Heck my next door neighbors are a mixed couple the man being black. They have plenty of “toys”. Harley’s, Corvette, 2 boats ( one really nice one). They could afford a nice RV but they choose not to. I asked him once about RVing and his response was why would I want to do that? It wasn’t a long discussion.

I don't see anything wrong with what she is saying. According to the article, 50% of new campers are non-white, but there is zero non-white representation at the corporate level. If you want to cash in on those new campers, you may want to have representation that represents them. It's just good business sense.

KOA kind of taking a card from Major League Baseball & what they've saying pretty much the same thing in recent years. Too many white people playing pro baseball. Well Mr MLB, how many urban kids do you see playing Little League Baseball?????.... next to none, they're not interested & therefore a lot of places don't even have baseball fields any more.

What I wonder is if KOA / Good Sam etc are being shaken down by someone like Al Sharpton / Jesse Jackson or if they have some raging left wing loon in management nowadays.

ETA: Could also be 'all about the money' i.e. an attempt to extract more $ out of a demographic they're not tapped into veiled under the cover of 'diversity'.
