When I replaced my house batteries last year, I went with a pair of 6v batteries. No real reason other than I have read on here that they may be more durable.
It really doesn't matter a whole lot. 12v is 12v. 200 ah is 200 ah. Don't mistreat ANY battery and you will do fine with whatever you have/buy.
