^^^^^^^^^Maybe you're just watching the wrong videos. YouTube has some real stoopid people on there. There are very few cups of coffee as good as from a French press. If you are happy with a Keurig-type coffee maker then a French press isn't for you. But it's worth a try if you really like coffee.
Put coffee in French press.
Pour in boiling water.
Wait.
Press down on the plunger.
Decant the coffee.
Very easy and fantastic coffee. I would have one but the cleanup is a pain. I have one at home though. Can't say anything about the Aeropress.
