Not looking to get into arguing over whatever the detailed engineering specifics are. Just want a general idea how much concrete I'll be buying if I decide to concrete the barn floor.

we built a new concrete drive for our 26,000-lb MH a year or so ago. assuming that we might later acquire a larger/heavier MH we overbuilt the drive. as i recall we have 6-7 inches of concrete plus rebar.

A 4" thick pad would be considered standard with normal rebar and reinforcing steel, but to thicken the area where the trailers wheels will set to 5 or 6 would not be a bad idea. You can spread the weight from the landing gear with simple lumber before dropping the gear.

Driveways are generally 6-inches thick. Commercial driveways 8-inches thick.

Have you tried to determine what you need via the web since you don't want a concrete engineer involved? Doesn't soil type matter too? I'm seeing estimates of four to five inches for cars, five to six for heavy trucks (whatever that means) etc. with a "good" soil base.

Around here, 3 1/2"-> 4" for vehicles, walk ways, sidewalks, etc. If you add metal and some fiber, that's all you'll need.

3000 psi concrete 4" thick with fiber (no rebar or wire) even if it's sandy soil. Saw it into approx 12' X 12' areas to control where it will crack.t

As you can see you just received 5 different answers. The only correct answer will be what the local building codes state for driveways. It all depends on soil, frost line, etc.

Just go completely overboard with the concrete. You'll not regret it!

If your going 4", you might as well go 6".. just dig a bit deeper ..
