I have had my Generac sitting out on my awning side and to the rear of the trailer… it is louder than the inverter generators while standing outside… and i barely heard it inside… with anything running it would have been hard to hear…
although I have been beside a guy using his 2000 Honda on the street side of my trailer and I heard it quite well while I was inside… it must have been well loaded and the exhaust side pointed my direction…
Seems like there is a lot more to sound transmission than just db’s… the quietest one I have ever heard was the Honda 5500 inverter (Honda EU6500IS Inverter Generator), and is what I would buy to use as a camping generator… more power not more noise…
BTW: I hear the neighbors water heater, or furnace, and even his AC running while inside my trailer...
