???? For open frame Generator users.

I really don't want to start a lot of anti open frame generator replies.
Just a question. If using a 3000 watt open frame generator and it is placed about 10 feet from the rear of your Landmark 5th Wheel, and your doors and windows are closed, can you hear the generator running while inside your 5th Wheel?

  • We use a Champion 3500/4000 at the end of the trailers power cord and can hear it some if the AC or TV isn't on. Not at all if one of those are running. The Champion is a bit quieter than a contractor generator. 67 db vs 74 db.
  • I have a 5500 at home and 90 ft from the house in the barn with the door closed, I can hear it in the house.
  • Well I could hear my Honda in that same situation so I can guarantee you'll be turning up the TV or talking loudly over it.
  • Don't have a landmark - Cedar Creek 38FL

5500 Watt Generator - Open Frame - Contractor Grade
Only use it at the race track if it gets real hot, but we put it near the wood line about 15 feet from the rig - windows and doors closed, just barely hear it. And mostly in the back in the bedroom.

3500 Watt inverter generator and use that normally and don't hear much of that one either.
