I paid 1/3 the property tax in CA due to living in same house over 30 years. Fire insurance is way cheaper in CA when you have a fire hydraunt close by and fire station less than a mile away. Pricey car insurance. Don't have to drive far to shop but getting out of town to camp was a major project. Most of our camping was sailing up & down the coast because we were a mile from beach.
