The goal of your WD hitch should be to get the front fenders back to their stock unloaded height, this ensures that the front axle is not unloaded and keep you in control as in unloaded configuration. Let the rear take care of itself. You take care of the front end. The theory of equal squat on all four corners of the vehicle was once the recommended method. But modern WD hitch adjustment methodologies has abandoned this recommendation.
1) you need to weight the trailer and get an accurate loaded tongue weight. It would not surprise me if you are in the 1200-1500 lb range.
2) check out the WD hitch sticky thread Here
And make sure your WD hitch is dialed in 100%.
3) once you know your trailers actual tongue weight you may have to replace the WD hitch and possibly the trucks receiver hitch in order to stay in the ratings.
