12 volt coffee makers is the any good reason to own one?

Wow, I thought I was buying the only bad ones made. it's good to know that everyone has that problem. I'm so glad I just bought another one!, I also have a combo kit where the invertor matches the 120 volt coffee maker and it seems to work ok. I am keeping a separate spare 12 volt new battery that I never used as the battery I run my power tongue jack and 120 volt invertor for coffee, small tv while parked. I have a trickle charger that I'll use while it's connected to shore power.

Aerobie Aeropress for us now, have tried everything else but the 12V drip model. It's super easy to clean up, just push the grounds through the bottom into the trash & rinse. Makes amazing coffee, and it's really fast.

one more vote for the Coleman Stovetop Drip Coffee maker--have had one for the last 8 camping seasons and wouldn't leave home without it!

DW even has a thermal mug with French Press attachment.
Since it takes her at least half an hour to drink a cup of coffee this gets us on the road a little sooner!


Hint: after you pour the boiling (actually just simmering) water onto the grounds you will note that the grounds very quickly float to the top. Give these grounds a quick stir with a long handled spoon. The coffee grounds will then disperse more evenly through the hot water. put the top and screen back on and wait 5 minutes or so before depressing. Note: do NOT use a fine coffee grind or you will end up with sediment or even grounds in your cup.

Nope, not for any reason at all to own a 12 volt Coffee Pot, ever. We have been RV'ers now for over 45+ years.

We have aalwasy had a 120 Volt Drip Coffee Maker, but have hardley ever used it.

Now on the othe rhaad, we still have our Favorite Coffee Drip Pot of aall times, a "Coleman Drip Coffee Pot". We have almost always have been Boondockers anyways.

Even at home, or out and about, we never, ever drink any of that Flavored Coffee
for any of those places that sells it. Don't think we are about to change anytime time soon.

It is really just a variation of cowboy coffee, whereby one just boils water with the grounds in it, and does not mess with the percolator. As with egg coffee, I add the cool water to settle the grounds, but I still filter each cup individually as I pour it.

I percolate if I need a lot of coffee. If just a couple cups I boil water in the percolator pot and then pour it though melita filter holder into a cup.

We always used a stove top percolator when we tent camped. Once you get the hang of perking and not boiling, it makes great coffee, well after you also figure out how many grounds to put in for your personal taste. Why waste battery power.

I have one too and it works pretty good. Takes 5-10 minutes longer to brew than with a 110ac coffee maker.
