12 volt coffee makers is the any good reason to own one?

To us the best coffee is made by a stovetop perculator. We can never understand why folks want to run the generator to plug in their coffee pot or toaster..or T.V. Folks have told us the French Press is too messy to clean when boondocking but we've never tried one. We wouldn't want to clean the press and dump it down the drain if coffee grounds are still in it. The single serve coffee bags just don't produce a good strong coffee for us. So...the perculator is the answer for us.
