12 volt coffee makers is the any good reason to own one?

I have a 120 volt coffee maker that I have been using for the past few years, if I am off grid running on battery I measure up one or two cups of water and pour it into a whistling tea pot, when the water is boiling I pout the boiling water into the coffee maker basket and either let it pour directly into the cup or let it pour into the glass coffeepot. Is there any benefit to owning a 12 volt pot?

Ps I have used this method in my truck camper and my 5th wheel.

x2 that's all we use anymore threw the electric one out, don't need 120v or 12v to make coffee.
  • I don't see one. Batteries are terrible energy storage devices on a watts/lb basis, and propane, while not as good as gasoline is orders of magnitude higher in energy density in watts/lb. So.... I'd rather use propane whenever possible and save the precious battery AH for stuff I can't possibly do with propane.
