12 volt heated blanket

I found a 12 volt blanket here.

It takes 50 amps but, it is only turned on for 30 to 45 minutes on a timer. Has anyone ever tried one of these out ?

I wonder if it would be worth it in my Travel Trailer when I am dry camping and using my 2, 6 volt deep cycle golf cart batteries ? I could warm up the bed with it as I go to sleep and then use my body heat to keep it warm after that.

I will be going out this Saturday night. It will be 20 degrees f that night. I will not start the furnace until I go to bed and it can be chilly in there for awhile until it heats up. I would like to keep the furnace set at 50 degrees after that to save power as I am sleeping.

I wonder if it is worth it or if I would be better of to just save my money and battery power to let the furnace do it's thing ?

  • Take DW, or GF, to prewarm bed. Just have her go to bed 15 min before you. Save on power, and likely more fun than 12V blanket IMO.
