There are also 18V battery chargers available for the Ryobi One+ system (and most other cordless construction tool systems) that run off of vehicle 12V power via a lighter socket.
I'm not sure the little vacuum is the best of the Ryobi 18V tools, from what I've read. I can't say that I've studied the matter very closely, as it was not one that interested me particularly.
I use a little rechargeable folding stick vacuum with a removable hand vacuum insert (the Bissel Lift-Off Floors and More Pet, to be precise, though my reason for choosing that particular model had more to do with finding it locally at a good price than anything else). I've been pretty impressed overall with how well it works, though it's certainly not as powerful as a home vacuum cleaner. It would not be too hard to rig up a DC-DC converter to be able to charge it from 12V power; it comes with a wall wart for that purpose, and it's a slow charger.
