Vacuum Cleaner Frustration ARRRGGGHHH!!!

I had a 5 gallon shop vac that had a busted canister. I accidentally discovered that the top would fit and seal perfectly on a 5 gallon plastic bucket. I used it for years that way. Can't beat shop-Vac for the money.

I tried 2 vacuums prior to this one - a Dirt Devil bagged and a 2.5 gal mighty vac shop vac (home depot), the one linked below is the bomb! +- 600 watts.

Is ice available? I made one of these and it is surprisingly effective. Mine has two 3" 90s so wifey has her own. Makes sitting under the awning possible even in the Florida heat.

Monday afternoon. Ninety degrees one hundred percent condensing humidity. Modem is shorting I guess, one bar to four. Up and down. Using a fan is like sticking the prop of an outboard into a drizzle out of the shower head. Haven't felt humidity like this since I summered in the El Peten rain forest back in '89.

No connectivity to my bank or for shopping I can barely get Google, but I get RV net. Must be the https thing. Reading glasses are fogging up. Two folks passed away from heat prostration in this tiny burg. And my air conditioning is far far away. Even the ND compressor in the car is out. Beach towels on bed. Microfiber towels on the pillows.

Har har har, I need a dry or wet vacuum today!

How about a Makita 18 volt vacuum. There are a few available accessories

We use in our RV exactly what you describe ... but it isn't made anymore so you'll have to go the garage-sale/flee-market/2nd-hand-store/eBay route to find one - probably cheap too, years at this point in time.

It's an Oreck XL Model BB870-AS.

I hope it's as good as the price! 4 HP requires 25A at 120V so it's certainly not that on a household plug but it must be whatever 4 peak HP means on their website.

Mex, it appears the tropical system moving at your present location will not be a Spinning windbag, but it will have plenty of moisture to lay down, and blow out the Mex1 in some areas.

The GFS weather model has significantly increased the green and blue and purple Blobbage (rain, rainier, and rainiest) over all of Baja and the desert SW.

It even indicates that the weak area of low pressure will deepen when directly over the Pennisula.

The weather models have done pretty poorly on all intensity forecasts of storms the last two years mostly vastly underestimating the intensity and the rapidity of intensification, but this one appears as if it is going to tap the huge stored Heat content of the Sea of Cortez, and spread the moisture and energy liberally all over the northern 2/3 of Baja and the desert SW.

While it is doubtful if this tropical system will strengthen into Named storm status, the moisture it is carrying might be able to accomplish the same damage with regard to the roads.

Leaving the store and internet service. Bad storm coming. Going to loose lights, water, everything but bottled gas. 18" predicted. Might be out of touch for awhile. Going to load freezer with blue ice. Battery fans ready to go. Battery LED lights ready to go. Need to plug leak between patio and dining room in house.

Have laptop ready to play movies. My NOOK and a zillion electronics parts catalogs to drool over. This little ASUS goes 10 hours between charges. Thank god for it.

If I were home this would be a laugh. But I'm not and I'm sort of frowning. Temp 96 humidity 75 (approx).
