Did it have a full tank of gas?? Try to convince her, (:) that as an older truck, it really needs to be maintained, and show her how to check the oil occasionally, always take a look at the tires, and never assume that it will stop when she hits the brakes. There are so many (kids and ?adults) that only know that if you push this petal it goes, and the other one stops.
among the many rules and regulations that we've set for our new driver, one is that she be able to change her own flat tire, check her own air pressure and oil level and identify engine components under the hood.
I also coached her on what not to do if she has a minor fender bender on a busy road at rush hour. Don't stop in the middle of the road acting like it's the end of the world....(assuming no one is injured). One of my pet peeves.......
