Who uses a 2-1/2" shank instead of the adapter sleeve, and what brand shank did you get for what brand hitch assembly? We have a Reese trunnion system, and wonder how their #54977 shank is? Or do y...

I finally took the time to look through my '13 Chevy owners manual. The only thing I found stated not to exceed the tongue weight rating for the hitch (1500lbs for my truck), but no mention of the adapter sleeve anywhere I could find.
Regardless, I plan on getting the new 2.5" shank, but though it was interesting not to find any info about the adapter sleeve.
