The Curt model 15845 is rated at 20000/2700# but requires drilling. The Reese 45297 rated at 18000/2500# (WD) does not. I like the build of the Curt and the hitch shop doing my wiring prefers them.
Anyone have issues or heartburn with drilling into the frame? Holes never improve strength or integrity. Besides, what about alignment with the Curt? How square does the hitch have to be? The Curt uses the rivets in the frame for alignment. I'm a perfectionist and will can get it close but it won't be perfectly inline with the frame.
