OTR trucks stop at many different truck stops to fuel and they have many different blends of diesel. Does anyone really think that they would fuel their trucks with the blends that are out there if they would hurt their engines. I have the Cummins ISL 400 in my 2008 rv and have not had any problems with the different blends. Do engine problems happen, of course. I don't think it is caused by the biodiesel. I am a retired otr driver and fueled many times with biodiesel and never had a problem.
OTR trucks do not have the same HPFP that the pickups do. Not even close.
Why do you think the engineers that designed the fuel system in my truck say do not use over B5 or your warrantee will be void?
From the Linked Cummins Bulletin
"For Cummins engines in Ram trucks, B20 may be used
in municipal, government and commercial fleets only.
This applies to selected model-year vehicles. Please
consult an authorized Ram service center for specific
requirements and approved vehicle models."
That tells me NOT in my '07 5.9L CTD
the statement about ram trucks may have more to do with the fact that chrylser, NOT cummins is the warranty provider to owners of ram trucks and cummins doesn't want to get into conflict with whatever chrysler says.
Or, there could be a valid concern on cummins part. I'll put my money on the first.
