20% Bio Fuel at Flying J/Pilot

I pulled into the Flying J in Lodi to get fuel... I noticed that the DIESEL contains 20% Bio... Mercedes does not want me to use it and as picky Mercedes is I don't want to use it....

My question is do ALL the Flying J/Pilot's now have 20%? If that's the case they have lost me as a customer..

Thanks Lee......

  • Thanks for the responses but no one really answered may question.....

Is all Flying J/Pilots going to 20%? I know the one in Lodi is... What about Ripon and Bakersfield.....
  • Murphy stations also have a sticker on the pump stating there could be 'up to' 20% biodiesel in there diesel fuel.
  • I have the 2006 Cummins ISL 400. When I talked to Cummins about the Bio20% they said I could use it. I would need to carry some extra fuel filters because of the cleaning properties. They also said that there is a fuel filter for biodiesel fuel. She did not know the part number so I will need to call a Cummins dealer and find it out. She also recommended that I add an algae treatment.
  • Going to be hard to avoid. Distributors get a subsidy for using biodiesel. B20 or higher. Cummins also warns about using biodiesel in pre 2002 engines. Cummins on Biodiesel
Cummins also says damage to lines, gaskets, metal fittings etc is not covered by warranty.. Increases lubrication and reduces mpg....should be used within 6 months of manufacture and not kept in your fuel system more than 3 months.
