2000 k3500 chevy wrong fuse box for brake controller

I have a 2000 chevy k3500 and it has the z82 code in the glove box indicating factory tow wiring. I want to install a brake controller and 7 pin but the fuse box under the dash doesn't look like the one in all the instructions to plug in the brake controller.
This link shows what the box should be but mine is smaller and black.

This link shows a diagram of mine. It is relays only no fuses.

I'm very confused on how to plug in the controller.

  • One possibility here...most GM trucks from 1999 and up were of the new body style. If I remember correctly, I think that the 1999 and 2000 3500 series trucks were the older body style (GMT 400??). Is there any chance your truck is the older style?? If so, the instructions may be for the wrong series of truck. Anyway...just a thought.
