2000 Saturn SL dinghy

i saw on the RV Dinghy Towing Guide that my 2000 Saturn SL is available for towing at 65 MPH with no restrictions. has anyone ever had issues towing that certain vehicle? im taking it on a 3000 mile trip this summer and want to know what to look out for. any comments are appreciated.

  • I bought a '01 Saturn SL1 specifically to be towed. It's easy to setup, easy to connect, is shaped so that I've never had a rock chip, and is a nice comfortable car to drive around when I reach a stopping place. It only had 60,000 miles on it when I bought it, and I've pretty much replaced every common failure device on the darn thing, but I still like it. It's very easy to work on.

The only issue I've had towing it, is the couple times I put the tow bar connector on one side upside down so the car would end up weaving. It would pull the RV...wag it's tail. Once I see or feel the weaving, I stop and correct and all is well. All other towing has been very easy.

Here's my blog post about setting it up for towing and and a repair article about all the things I've fixed on it: Towing a Saturn SL1
