I bought a '01 Saturn SL1 specifically to be towed. It's easy to setup, easy to connect, is shaped so that I've never had a rock chip, and is a nice comfortable car to drive around when I reach a stopping place. It only had 60,000 miles on it when I bought it, and I've pretty much replaced every common failure device on the darn thing, but I still like it. It's very easy to work on.
The only issue I've had towing it, is the couple times I put the tow bar connector on one side upside down so the car would end up weaving. It would pull the RV...wag it's tail. Once I see or feel the weaving, I stop and correct and all is well. All other towing has been very easy.
Here's my blog post about setting it up for towing and and a repair article about all the things I've fixed on it:
