Yes, the WD hitch was on during the weighing - if the TW is now 600 because of the WD hitch, is that still too low, still possibly causing fish tailing? Or is it fine, now that you know the weight was distributed?
I am still quite concerned that this family only has 700 lbs until they hit their GVWR. They still need to add a 1/2 tank of gas, 4 kids (4 - 10), a bull mastive, another small dog, and various entertainment/food items. (The 150lb bull mastive will be in the way rear of the vehicle, too, so I will keep an eye on that tongue weight carefully, too. - I am reading that plays in as well).
So, I have told them they must load up the TT as if they are ready to go and must go weigh in again and get a new TW, verify they are not exceeting the 10,500# towing weight & check the GVWR again. They now fully understand the safety issues here & don't want to do anything that will cause harm to them or the vehicle.
