Yes it is towable. Start the vehicle, put the trans in neutral, put the transfer case in neutral, put the transmission in park, and turn the ignition key back one click. That will turn off the electronics and leave the column lock open so the wheels can follow the coach. - alemarExplorerIt is a 2003 Grand Cherokee, 4.0 L six, auto trans. We are looking at this model Grand Cherokee. It is a part time 4x4, auto trans.
I have searched the internet and can not find any info.
Is it towable 4 wheels down?
Thanks in advance,
Alex
it's not enough for the GC to be a 4x4. make certain that the transfer case has a manually selectable neutral position. you don't say what year GC but, depending on year, the selector "switch" can be a lever, button, handle, etc. if you can place the transfer case in a neutral position you should be good to go.
you can and should also check the 'Recreational Towing' section in the owner's manual for whatever year GC you're looking at for additional information. if you can't get a look at the owner's manual you can download one here for free. - ValkyriebushExplorer IIShould be if it's a 4X4.
