We are at 7,000 pounds loaded and tow with the same truck (Silverado).
It does OK. It struggles some on the hills but that is to be expected. We certainly won't be taking this combo through the Rockies, but for the flat land in the Midwest, it does fine.
I have checked my numbers and am under all of them. Tossing a couple of loaded coolers in the bed puts us right at our payload (1,551).
This is definitely the heaviest trailer I would tow. I saw someone with a Tundra towing one of those tall trailers with the loft last weekend. I asked him how much the trailer weighed and he said "don't know and don't care, the Tundra does fine." I looked at the sticker on the door and the gross weight of the trailer is 10,000 pounds. Yikes.
