We also have a 2013 Edge and we use the iRV2 brake. We had a charge line installed to prevent this from happening because it happened on previous toads.
If you have a 2003 or newer Freightliner, the wire is already in the 7 pin plug. We have an early 2003, so it wasn't, but the later ones were.
