2017 Season Opener!

Earlier this week got out for our "start-of-the-season-shakedown" trip - just an overnight in the nearby White Mountain National Forest here in NH after we get the rig out of hibernation.

The Forest Service actually keeps about 1/2 the sites in this campground plowed open all winter - and since it was a snowy season for us, there was still plenty of the white stuff left! Sunny days, cool (near freezing) nights - allows us to test all systems in the rig before we embark on any big trips. Happy to report "all systems GO!".

Think we might try a trip south where it will be warmer! See you on the road! ST
  • Hi Fizz! Actually, there were about 9 sites occupied, and it was a Monday night! But still quiet (except for the roaring river filled with snowmelt about 150' in front of us!).
  • Hi golf-bears! SD is a long way from Berlin! I'd lived in Gorham for a while, then Littleton for a couple of years. The picture is at Hancock CG off the "Kanc", just a couple miles east of Lincoln. Dolly Copp CG up in Gorham also has plowed camping access for the winter. We like Custer SP out by you - been there a few times! ST
  • loggenrock, Where were you camping out at? I was born and raised in Berlin so have an interest in camping spots in NH. Always nice getting back home once in a while.
  • Just did the same, Florida style (no snow on the ground!) on Monday night following the big post-Easter migration of departing snowbirds. Spent the night at the state park campground a few miles from our house for a shake-down, and all is in good working order.

We've been very busy lately checking all the RV's systems, chassis and house, so we can hit the road soon.
