2018 GMC Canyon brakes sticking after ready brake install

A little too much tension on the brake cable that is hardly enough to notice but it is just enough to activate the brake lights. On my Focus somehow a piece of the carpet got into the cable sheath and was causing it not to release all the way.

Did you install the Ready Stop break-away switch too? It may have pulled just a enough to remove slack between the unit and the pedal also causing the lights to activate.
