I suspect a few didn't read the story.
It clearly says the accident happened "on the northbound off ramp at the start of the Island Falls construction detour off Interstate 95 in Island Falls.".
It wasn't twisty narrow roads, it happened on the OFF RAMP. The fact it happened at 2:30am may have been a big factor too.
