A little more on the details. My DW retired 18 months ago. I've been working a pretty high stress job for the last 30 years. I've been the production engineering manager in a bomb factory! Talk about nerve racking work. One error, and you can lose your crew and your life. I'm nearly 60 now, so it's time to call it quits.
My dad is in his mid 80's, active and healthy. Better yet, he lives on the ocean in northern Maine. So next year, we're going to hook up the RV, head west to California, north to Washington, east to Maine, South to Florida, then west back home. We're planning 3-4 months for this excursion, if not more.
Then, in 2015, we're going to spend all summer in Alaska. I have a love of photography, and want to really take my time and do some landscape and wildlife work. Who knows, I might even sell some of the photos.
So far, we haven't planned 2016 yet, but that's part of the fun of being free to do what we want when we want. I don't think I'll go back to work, unless somebody wants to hire me as their photo guide here in Arizona....
It seems you have a "well deserved" plan ahead of you.
It is our 25th in 2015 and Alaska, Yukon, North West Territories and Nunavut are on our list.
What a wonderful idea for a paying hobby. I hope that it works out that way for you.
I keep telling my hubby he should "retire" early and provide a service of taking groups of people on camping trips. Their own RV's etc. rather like a tour guide. A convoy of RV's LOL
