"Dual feed" what is that? 30A is one hot, one neutral and one ground all 10GA wires.
30A you get ONE 30A leg. 50A you get two 50A legs. 100 usable amps VS 30, no brainer to me. Worth the few extra bucks just for home value increase.
He means a normal 50 amp installation, but using a dual 30 amp breaker instead of a 50 amp breaker, allowing a smaller wire size. I agree the material savings would hardly be worth it, and would only recommend it when the service panel load capacity is a factor.
