When we are on a 30 amp plug we can not run fireplace heater and make a coffee at same time. If we can hook up to 50 amp will that help. Do the two hots of a 50 amp hook up feed two different circuits of the trailer?
Converting your RV from 30 to 50 amp service is a major, labor-intensive, expensive process.
What some people do is add a separate 15 amp inlet to the side of their RV, wired directly to an interior outlet. They then plug their 30 amp cord into the 30 amp receptacle and plus a separate extension cord into the 15/20 amp receptacle on the same pedestal, which is on it's own separate circuit breaker in the pedestal.
You would then plug your coffee maker or microwave or whatever into that separate interior outlet.
