$50 Christmas Gift

The problem I have with gift cards is that: I give you one and you give me one. OK, we're even, but what's the point other than the aggravation we each went through to get the cards.
As other posters, I don't have the solution, sorry, but I always believed that the gift should something the person could/would want but would never spend the money on. That's a successful gift.
