Depending on how much time you spend in the camper, a good set of knives like you may have at home are a nice addition. We just picked up a set as a Black Friday deal.

Otherwise, here's a list of newbie/first trip essentials with some nods towards other nice-to/should-haves.

Depending on if you have one now, or the connections for it, my wife LOVED when I had the Splendide washer/dryer combo intalled in our 5er...If I'd known the reaction she was going to have, I'd done it YEARS ago:) Not cheap but has proven to be a most valued asset.

Deluxe campsite chair.

I can tell you never buy your wife any present that has an electric cord unless she specifically asks for that item.

A wall mounted hair dryer, one of the oxygenics body spa shower heads - one of the nice antigravity chairs,

A comfortable camp chair

....she did, again, and again and again:)...and if mama ain't happy...well, you know the rest of it, and after 44 years of marriage, I "kinda" know her now:)

I like the Camp Chair suggestions. A stocking stuffer one year that was a hit were small led lights that had a auto-on switch. They were square, small and could take with for walking the dog at night, or leave by the step to light up if anyone (or any animal) walked on by. Mentioned them on my blog link recently.
We're pretty simple gift-wise, so anything that keeps my wife warm (blankets, sweaters, fuzzy slippers) when we camp early spring in RoadAbode she's happy for.
