No, they wont take you with kids or even your spouse if under 50.
I'm in the same boat; My wife and I are over 50 but we will always have an adult disabled (well under 50) son with us and cant use those places.
The reason I posted the question is because rather than calling the many individual resorts, I figured I'd ask to fine folks here. As I said it in my original post Del Webb communities allows grandparents for instance, to have their grandchildren stay with them for a short while (less than months).
I've also seen postings on forums stating that some places allow kids actually. So I figured I would ask here. I wouldn't bring the kids to a resort if the residents were of the harumph harumph, get off my lawn types.
Our park is a 55+ park. Grandparents are allowed to have grandchildren as guests for 2 weeks. But the grandparents are OWNERS in the park. That would be different than someone who just drops in with kids.
I agree with many here that we have no activities that would be of interest to 6 year olds except maybe the pool. On hot days it is filled with "oldies" milling around in the water propped up with their "pool noodles." They would not appreciate children "enjoying" the pool as only kids can do.
There are plenty of parks in snowbird areas that are family friendly. Those are the parks I would choose rather than "snowbird destination" parks. And while our park is billed as a "resort," that would mean two different things to snowbirds and families.
We camped and boated a lot with our children when they were little. We had no trouble finding places to visit that we all enjoyed. You just need to modify your search.
