I understand the appeal of 55 plus RV parks. My office used to be located within a Del Webb Sun City.I got married later in life and had triplet boys at the age of 50. Now that my kids are six years old we want to get a motorhome or travel trailer.I noticed that in a lot of places like Scottsdale and Phoenix many of the RV parks are age-restricted 55 +. Since I am now 56 years old will they let me in in a motorhome with three six year old boys? We would not be staying for months and months at a time. Rather it would be for a short period like a few days to week.Are the residence and such RV parks generally friendly of such parks towards kids or would they rather not have kids around?

Why do you think that are advertised as 55+? I like kids, am 64 years old, but if I were to visit.a park that wanted 55+, then that’s what I’d want to be there.

No, they wont take you with kids or even your spouse if under 50. I'm in the same boat; My wife and I are over 50 but we will always have an adult disabled (well under 50) son with us and cant use those places.

Is that like going to a store that has a NO PETS sign and asking for it to be ok with yours because you wont be in there long.

As I said it in my original post Del Webb communities allows grandparents for instance, to have their grandchildren stay with them for a short while (less than months). I've also seen postings on forums stating that some places allow kids actually. So I figured I would ask here. I wouldn't bring the kids to a resort if the residents were of the harumph harumph, get off my lawn types.

I always thought the purpose of a 55+ park was to restrict the age of the campers to 55 and older. If a CG does not allow dogs, is it okay take dogs.Am I missing or not understanding something..:hI think hou would be better off calling the CG's you are interested in using. It's more of a pain but that would give you the most accurate answer.

If it's just for a week you should have no problems finding accommodations even at most 55+ parks if they have short-term sites available.

We have the same situation - never thought our 35 yo son would be a problem. That sucks.

Sorry, should have read the other responses. Thanks, our son is flying down to Orlando to do Disney and Universal on our first big trip. This will be his first flight by himself. He'll be staying with our daughter and her family while we're gone. I'll check with the park I've reserved but don't think it's and over 55 park anyway.

That's wonderful your son can make that kind of trip himself. Our son, Wes, could never do that but he does enjoy Disney.

Our winter home park allows my grandkids for a few days at a time. It makes it nice for Christmas. I am however responsible to keep them peaceful and not disturbing my neighbors. The children could be asked to leavce if they create a disturbance and get complaints. I am also very mindful that 55+ people veiw peace and quiet differently than a child friendly park. Please contacts parks you think you would like to stay in and ask them what their written children rules are.
