I have the same Thule unit. I have used it on the back of two different 5ers for 12 years and it has proved to be flawless. I carry two Pedego Electric bikes and have done over 10,000 miles with no issues. As previous poster says the most important thing is to make sure all is tight where the rack enters the receiver.
I use one of these:
Hitch Clamp
In addition the Thule rack comes with a hitch pin that tightens up the sideways movement, as the pin threads into a threaded socket on one side.
