What do you mean by "another negative"? Can't say I've seen any true negatives for the Andersen hitch. And this matter really isn't a negative, since a tripod isn't necessary anyway.
FWIW, I was looking into buying a tripod a while back, but after installing the JT Strong Arms, it was pretty clear that I didn't need one.
