You clearly don't watch "Live PD". The police have the right to walk a drug-sniffing dog around your vehicle.
They might, if they don't prolong the traffic stop as a result of running a dog. Keeping you there (at least unreasonably) longer to run a dog at a routine traffic stop is illegal everywhere.
