I knew when we were going to be in Phoenix Az to visit my brother for 5 days so the day before we got to Phoenix my daughter went to the post office and shipped my meds priority mail 2-3 day service. ...

Have your prescriptions filled by a pharmacy with a national presence such as Walmart. Then you can get refills anywhere in the country. Personally, I've had more delayed shipments using UPS and FedEx than I have had with USPS.
