Be it pride in ownership, working on it myself or what ever, there are positives to doing so and certainly no reason not to. I also spray water in the nooks and crannies of the body work to get dirt accumulation out that wouls otherwise trap moisture and result in premature rust.
Also, I would much rather buy from a person who has meticulously maintained their vehicle.

You can tell right away if someone has cared for their rig.
This isn't about whether or not you want to or it needs it but for those of that like to do it.
We all don't listen to the same music.
