I did this awhile ago on a truck I don't have anymore, but it was needed..
You can use a pressure washer too... Just keep the tip about a foot or more away from anything, then it's just a mist that rinses it off.. With a HOSE, you are dumping gallons of water on at a time where the pressure washer is only just using a fraction of the volume of water..
But, whatever floats your boat! ha, ha! Do whatever works best for you.
