Driving on two lane roads with our classC,
I make it a habit to pull over if I get five or six vehicles behind me.
It is very rare, almost never happens, that drivers whom I went out of my way to help,
ever toot their horn or wave.
Strange that the truckers have time to blink their clearance lights
when you signal that it is OK to cut back in,
others, I guess are too self important
to indulge in a simple courtesy!
First: When it comes to flashing you back over after you pass.. My brother is a professional OTR semi driver.. HE taught me about that.. It is not something taught to most drivers.. THERE IS. however an urban myth about doing that which can discourage people from doing it. NOTE: it is a myth and I am not about to perpetuate it here.
As for pulling over and letting folks pass on a 2-lane.
I do that as well.. had a few (Trucks) Flash marker lights to say "Thank you" Since I was going slow due to it being a Kentucky back road I still do not know that well.. And he was a Local. (Power or Phone company in fact).
I am afraid the world is becomming more "ME, ME, ME" and less about courtesy.
I still hold doors for folks. Amazing as that may be.
