I don't have a class A or a diesel, but I know my engine is loud. So, I don't start my engine until I've done everything but put away the leveling blocks. At that point, I start the engine, move the RV off the blocks, put the blocks away under the driver seat, and drive away.
I have sleep issues and oftentimes don't fall into a good sleep until after 5 am no matter what time I go to bed, so early morning engines (generators included) can really ruin my day. Fortunately where I camp I rarely run into issues.
