It has taken a while, but I have come to accept there are noises at campgrounds and no matter how much I complain or belly-ache about them, it's just part of the experience. If you are, or I am go visit a public operated facility, then we all can expect certain noises. Annoying as it may be, it's just part of it.
We live in the country with a corn and bean field for a front yard and back yard on a county road. There are neighbors on the next properties overs. It's VERY quiet where I live. We can hear the train rumbling on the tracks more than 10 miles away. Skies are dark and stars twinkle like Christmas lights in the sky. A full moon brightens up everything like daylight. On a very cloudy night we can see the glow of the city lights on the horizon from Anderson to the East of us, and Pendleton to the South East of us, Lapel and Noblesville to the West of us, and Fishers to the South West of us, all on the horizons, glowing softly like we are surrounded by a halo. But right where we live, so dark, it's awesome. Of course, living in such a place, it's VERY quiet! Sometimes we can hear the distant rumbling of traffic on Interstant I-69 over 2 miles away, and occasionally a car, a dump truck, or a motorcycle will go down our road.
So, when we go to a public orientated campground, with all the noise, confusion, lights, annoyances, activity, and craziness that goes one, YES.... we often ask ourselves, "Wny didn't we just stay home where it's is so peaceful and quiet!" But then ... Think of all the GREAT places we would have missed had we stayed home.
Noise? It's just part of the experience. Really ... get over it!
