Please when you are sitting outside of your RV talking on your cell phone to Aunt Minnie, Uncle Jed or anyone else keep the tone down to as if the person was next to you. The lady in the site across from us could have been heard a block away today as she shouted for about an hour, and it seems more and ,more people feel they must shout on them. I could bring you completely up to date on what that ladys entire conversation was about. Last week a guy next to us was giving out his credit number card to someone, and I could have written it down if I wanted to.Jack L

Unfortunately it's a sign of the times.

No different than someone with an outside entertainment system blasting their tv, screaming kids, cackling around the campfire, or any other of the "noise pollution" issues that occur during communal living situations. EVERYONE needs to be cognizant of their noise levels, not just one group.

Not only do people tend to talk loudly on cell phones, it seems speaking volume increases during most phone conversations (including on land lines) - - unless they're speaking with their secret boyfriend or girlfriend.

In a movie theater during a show or on a plane - then I agree. Otherwise I see that as the least of your worries when camping. After all you got barking dogs, wild kids, drunks, loud music, smokey campfires, people in your site, people urinating at trees, etc.

Just sit back and listen, you might get some good gossip.

The sound quality on cell phone calls is horrible which is why we still have our land line. Some people, like my wife, end up talking louder to someone who's on a cell phone at the other end.

My guess is that the caller referenced in the original post went outside to avoid disturbing people inside the camper. :)

I agree it is common for folks to yell on their cell phones. Its hard to tell which of the folks on either end of the line is having trouble hearing...could be both. Thanks for the rant I do hope folks will turn up their volumes of go inside.
