Since 2008 a vital part of my day has been a quick check to see what's happening on this Forum. Over the past year I have found myself not checking in so often and during the past month; hardly at all. So I went back and reviewed 10 years of Private Messages, seeing names and recalling places and events that I had forgotten. I have made some great friends, gotten a world of information, and my life has been enhanced but things have changed and I think it may be time to wander on. The warmth and helpfulness and delight in sharing the wonderful world of camping/RV-ing doesn't seem to be here anymore.Or maybe it's just me? There is a lot of competition on social media also. Other sites have easier formats and I can actually post photos. Good Luck and happy traveling to everyone. lizzie

Yea, I still check this forum, but mostly I hang on Facebook groups for my specific interests which here lately is Cox Campers and Apache Canvas campers. Easy to interact and easy to post pictures. Unfortunately this forums software has not kept up with the times and still operates identically as it did in 2009 when I joined. Well, we do have a funky captcha now. Thanks!Jeremiah

I will miss you. I've appreciated your posts over the years. I stay away form social media. My wife created a Facebook account a few years ago, and I accessed it only once. My logic for not using Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter and such, is simply because, too many people access it all. And the last thing I want is my boss to know what I'm up to after work hours. So, RV.net still allows complete anonymity. By, it's that same anonymity that brings out the worst in some folks too!Old technology? Well ... I'm getting old too. I suppose the old technology and I will probably just die together someday.But, I do understand. Happy trails... wherever they lead you.

Facebook has so many RV groups and it has always been easier to post photos. Times are changing.

Yeah time cruises by quickly and seems to be going faster.10 years for you, coming up on 15 for me!I can remember the day I joined, I was looking for help figuring out how to get a toilet flange off the floor.Nearly 15 years later I still come here frequently but don't post as often as I used to. I still enjoy the forum immensely and like to contribute when I can, even if it's to answer the same old questions posted hundreds of times!I don't do Wastebook or Yourface or MySpace or any of those things. No interest in them at all. If I want to know how a friend or relative is doing I'll pick up the phone or email them.

I don’t have a Failbook account either and don’t see the appeal. Every “shared” page I’ve seen is a disorganized mess of photos, comments and “likes”. The time stamps on the single scrollable list of “stuff” are all over the place. 3 mins then 8 hrs then 1 hr below that. The there are the threaded replies you constantly have to click “see more” or “view more comments” on. I can’t tell if it’s all sorted by posting, latest comment, etc. and I’m an engineer/puzzle solver by trade. Perhaps the experience is different when you log in?I’m fine with simple and old fashioned forums.

10 years for you, coming up on 15 for me!

It is really easy to post pics on RV.Net and has been for a good while.

You will not find a bigger data base than the members here share daily. It does seem like every Tom, Dick, and Mary have joined the RV ranks lately but we were all new once.

Not you. Very true and very disheartening. I do very little on Facebook so I hang here and just deal with the people who ridicule, shame, criticize and ride their high horse. Sorry to see you go but I fully understand.

RV.net is RV.net. Happily, with all the new technology, there are other exciting and interesting ways to enjoy the Internet and RVing. RV.net represents the best that grandpa had, and since I am now a grandpa, it still serves some of my needs.
