I wonder just how many units are sold by CW rv sales that we never hear about because they're good sales and the purchasers are happy with their deals? Thousands?
I'm wondering as to why that CW dealer didn't look around to see if there were any other models of the one you wanted at other CW dealers and why you had to order one when it sounds as if some other dealers you checked had one on the lot. Also,I wouldn't have made that large of a deposit. And that's a really expensive trailer for a 24'. After spending 4 hours looking at two different 32' bunkhouse TT's,one a metal sided Jayco and the other a fiberglass Cougar, at the Seattle RV show a number of years ago, I decided on the Cougar and put a $200 deposit on the fully set-up show model and got a receipt. Got my financing the next day, went to the dealer and found that they had sold it that morning,BUT if I wanted one they'd order me one and it would need a $1000 deposit and would cost $3K more for ordering it with the same options as the show model. I said that I'd think about it and called Foley's in Marysville,in front of them, and asked if they had the same Cougar, which they did, asked how much and was told the price, which was less than the show model.I told him what my tradein was and told him I'd be up the next morning to do the deal. I asked the dealer in Tacoma if he could match or better the deal and he said no. I bought my Cougar from Foley the next day.So it can be done.
Oh, and another thing,I have bought one new pop/up trailer, two new travel trailers and a used 40' DP over a 25 year period and never been asked to pay for a PDI.
