I had an Arson K-9 for 7 years. She road in the back of my Ford Expedition. The companies that make the car kennels, also make a product that keeps the car running with the A/C on. If someone brakes into the car, the moment they step on the brake, the car will quit and can't be restarted without the key. The system also comes with a pager. If the A/C stops, the system will roll down designated windows (not much help on a passenger car without a cage) and page the owner. It's not an expensive product, but takes some wiring knoe how to install into the ignition.
